The Qaiwan International University Research Centre (QIURC) is dedicated to fostering innovation, excellence, and collaboration within academic and research communities. Biosketch (200–300 words)

Prof. Dr. Omji Porwal recently joined Qaiwan International University (QIU) as Professor and Director of Academic Research, returning from Canada. He holds dual undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Pharmacy (India), an M.Pharm in Pharmacognosy from Bundelkhand University (Jhansi), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Regulatory Affairs (PGDPRA) from Jamia Hamdard University (New Delhi). He earned a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty (JSS University, Mysore) under TIFAC‑CORE Excellence in Herbal Drugs.

With 19 years of experience across research, academia, and administration, Dr. Porwal has worked and collaborated internationally—including Canada, North Africa, Libya, Ethiopia, and the Kurdistan Region—alongside distinguished scholars. His expertise spans acrylate polymer manufacturing, herbal drug research, pharmacognosy, and phytochemistry. He has provided consultancy to Indian polymer industry leaders such as Corel Pharma Chem, Dhara Life Science, Rosari Biotech Pvt. Ltd., and KBH Polymer.

  • Mentorship: Guided and co‑supervised 9 M.Pharm students; currently mentoring 12 B.Pharm students.
  • Interdisciplinary Projects: Led 9 innovative initiatives.
  • Patents & Innovation: Filed 5 process patents, including 2 granted Australian patents; active in 2 business incubators focused on acrylate polymer technology (Ahmedabad).
  • Memberships: APTI, IPGA, SPER.
  • Publications & Presentations: 3 book chapters; 45 research papers; 55 review articles; 5 oral and 11 poster presentations; participation in 27 international and national conferences.
  • Faculty Development & Training: Contributed to 5 FDPs and 3 national FDPs; attended 17 workshops, 7 online courses, 21 international and 39 national webinars, plus numerous Quality Improvement Programs (QIPs).

Dr. Porwal’s extensive experience and commitment to academic excellence continue to advance research and innovation in pharmaceutical sciences, making him a valuable asset to QIU and the wider scientific community.
